The echo of dreaming while awake is an abstraction of reality, one is detached from what is really happening and the perception is something very diffused - it’s reality replaced by fantasy.

Long ago, daydreaming was considered a lazy hobby for people who lacked interest in life. During the 1950s psychologists warned parents and teachers not to let their children daydream or else they would be trapped in some kind of neurotic or psychotic state of mind.

Today’s advanced studies have shown that daydreaming can be more beneficial and coincidentally enough, it helps stimulate the mind. It is said that the average human being daydreams about 50% of the time of their waking life in their entire lifetime.

Positive aspects of daydreaming:

Daydreaming is said to be the key to unlocking hidden talents in us that we never thought were possible. Now people who let their minds wander shouldn’t be discouraged, but rather - excited. Although there are two different types of daydreamers, optimists, and pessimists. Here are the positives of fantasies.

  • Maintains good relationships and organize thoughts

  • Improves focus to help achieve goals.

Negative aspects of daydreaming fantasy:

Too much of anything in life is a bad thing. Although the positive benefits of daydreaming outweigh the negatives, there is still a fine line between a daydreamer and someone who lacks motivation.

People who are always pessimistic and think negatively will daydream negative thoughts.

By nature, this would keep the person in a downward spiral. The following list provides you with all the negatives of indulging in a daydreaming fantasy:

Sometimes we “hide” in our fantasy and go to a deserted place or a fantasy island. The reason is to get away from the stresses of life because it can become overwhelming at times. You may want to take a break and slow down.

Sex

Sexual fantasies are usually the most fun and exciting. You have the ability to put yourself in situations or feelings that we never thought were possible. Sex and love are usually the most common in daydreams. We have such dreams when we are not satisfied with our love life.

Revenge

When we daydream about revenge, we usually think of hurting or hurting someone that we don’t like. Revenge fantasies are not as bad as we think. If you are daydreaming about killing, you are releasing the angry energy that you hold within yourself. It’s like hitting a bad punch or going to the shooting range.
